Camping and other forms of outdoor recreation have always been popular. There are few better ways to connect with nature and feel at one with the world than camping or spending time outdoors. Most camping, about 70% of it in fact, is done on public campgrounds specifically designated for camping.
While the theme behind most camping trips remains the same, the methods we’re using to reconnect with nature vary greatly. The most popular type of camping, as you are probably capable of guessing, is by tent. Of all the individuals surveyed in a recent study designed to gather statistics about camping, almost 86% of them claimed to have gone tent-camping at some point. A smaller, yet still significant portion of those surveyed (about 30%) claimed to have gone cabin camping. Another 30% also had experience doing back-country activities (backpacking, hiking, and other activities like this).
As far as how we’re choosing to enjoy the actual grounds themselves, about a quarter of those surveyed claimed to have chosen drive-in camp sites for their outdoor activities. Another quarter or so of those surveyed claimed to have participated in RV camping. About 10% said they preferred to tent in their back yards, 8% enjoyed sleeping under the stars with very little to no equipment, and a meager 2% said they preferred to sleep in a yurt!
It’s fun for the whole gang, too. About 70% of all campers surveyed claimed to have brought a friend camping along with them at some point. Talk about something we can all enjoy!
If you happen to be a fan of cabin or RV camping, you might want to do yourself the favor of looking into some Colorado cabin rentals. There are very few places in the United States which offer such a unique and refreshing backdrop for you to reconnect with nature. Odds are, if someone says “Old Western,” you’re picturing something very much like Colorado. If you enjoy history, geology, photography, camping, hiking, or just adventuring out in nature, Colorado cabin rentals are sure to be a hit with you and those friends we know you’re planning on taking along with you this year! The Grand Canyon is located nearby, offering another entire world of things to do and see.
