Should you consider getting a chartered flight rather than flying commercial? Should your business invest in an executive jet, hire a private charter, or otherwise utilize private flights rather than public ones? There are good reasons to consider it and here are just a few:
Productivity
One of the biggest headaches in air travel is the loss of time. There?s the time getting to the airport, checking bags, going through security, waiting to board, waiting for everyone else to board, and sitting on the tarmac waiting while delays with other commercial flights keep you idling for an extra hour before taking off. A chartered flight allows you to avoid at least some of these delays, and makes the others go much faster.
And while it?s certainly possible to work on a commercial flight, particularly in business class, a 2009 survey found business people who flew commercial experienced a 40% drop in productivity. And of those who responded, 20% of them felt they were more productive on a company flight than even in the office! That?s a lot less distraction, and a good reason to consider a private jet charter.
Convenience
It?s not just a matter of convenience in boarding, working, and disembarking. A chartered flight can take you a lot more places than commercial flights can. Commercial airlines work within a network of just 550 airports; but a private plane charter can choose from more than 5,000. That means you can potentially leave and arrive from an airport far more convenient for your business needs.
That?s not to mention that commercial flights are tied to certain timetables. If you get an executive private jet charter or own your own private aircraft, you can leave at whatever time is convenient to you. Another little known convenience: a chartered flight is likely to be faster than a commercial one, even between the same airports. That?s because smaller jets are able to fly higher than commercial jets, allowing them to avoid air traffic issues that slow an aircraft down.
Availability
Have you ever gone looking for a flight, only to find it sold out? Or perhaps there were no more seats in business class and you or a valued member of your company was stuck in economy and couldn?t get that work done. You can avoid this with private aircraft.
In 2011, there were 11,261 private jets registered in America, and the United States takes the business of 49.7% of the the private jet market. Europe is only 20.8% of that market. It?s easy and convenient in America to get jet quotes for domestic or even international jet charter.
If you?ve never thought about a chartered flight before, start thinking about it now. It might be a way to increase productivity and save yourself or your company a lot of time and hassle.
